Nick also grew up in a musical household and remembers being
six years old
and banging a drum set that belonged to his brother during his older sibling's
rehearsal. Growing up
influenced by Motley Crue and Poison, Nick never took
formal lessons but cut his teeth early on in high school playing
what he calls
"simple punk" with a band called Ratzo Weezel. That group enjoyed some local notoriety, but Nick joined
MEST when he was 16 and never looked back. "I always had the feeling that something would happen with these guys," he says.
"We played a lot of shows and showed lots of determination." Nick went for two years to a Catholic high school, got kicked
out, and went three more to a public school before graduating and attending community college for a year. He loves playing
basketball and though he joined MEST hating video games, he
admits being sucked in by the enthusiasm of his bandmates Jeremiah
and Matt.
